Covid Vaccination News
Priory Gate is the host practice for our Primary Care Network and we will be receiving our vaccinations on Thursday 7th January. The first batch of vaccines will be for our patients that are 80 years of age and older and we are in the process of booking these patients in.
If you have not yet heard from us and are 80 or older please phone us.
Christmas/ New Year Closure
We will close at 18:30 on Thursday 24th December and will reopen on Tuesday 29th December.
For the New Year break we will close at 18:30 on Thursday 31st December and will reopen on Monday 4th January.
If you require medical attention when we are closed please contact 111 or if this is a life threatening emergency 999.
Flu Vaccines
If you have not yet had your vaccinations and are in an 'at-risk' group - Patients over 65, patients under 65 with certain chronic clinical conditions and pregnant ladies please book in.
From 01st December we are also able to vaccinate patients between 50 and 65 who do not fall into any of the categories above. Please contact reception to book them.

Research Study - Opiod Use for long term pain management
Priory Gate as a reseach practice are keen to assist patients with the use of long term opioid medication that is taken for pain managment. Patients are encouraged to consider an on-line study in conjunction with Keele University. Full details can be found at WWW.promppt.co.uk

Patient Participation Group
Priory Gate is looking to expand our Patient Participation Group. The Group meet quarterly and support the Practice with a range of activities. Priory Gate appoints new Partner
We are delighted to welcome Dr Claire Kelly who has recently joined Priory Gate from a surgery in Kenilworth. Dr Kelly is a trainer and will bring to the Practice 10 years of experience of working as a GP. Dr Kelly worked with us for 4 months before being appointed a Partner in January 2018.
Sharing of Medical Records - June 2017
The Coventry & Rugby CCG (the CCG) has recently authorised a mail drop to all Coventry households advising that the aim is to share the information on your GP record with other associated Health Care Professionals when needed. The aim of this project is to allow them to view this information as required as part of your care and treatment.
If you do not wish for your information to be shared please let either the Reception team or Clinical team know this when you are next in contact with us.
Extended Hours Appointments
Priory Gate have formed an alliance with a number of Practices across the city and are now able to offer appointments between 6.30pm and 9.45pm between Monday to Friday and at daytime on Saturday and Sunday. These additional clinics are based nearby on Broad Street Surgery- just off Stoney Stanton Road and are manned by GPs working across the City. In addition two further sites in Coventry are also available for these extended appointments. If you wish to benefit from these appointments please contact our reception team before 6.30pm on Monday to Friday.
Access to Medical Records
All patients now have the right to access some of their medical records on- line. Please speak to the Practice Manager Glenn Walker if you would like access to this facility.
Named Accountable GP
All Patients of Priory Gate now have a named accountable GP. The named GP is largely a role of oversight, with the requirement being introduced to reassure patients they have one GP within the practice who is responsible for ensuring that this work is carried out on their behalf. Dr Beaumont and Dr Tyrrell undertake the bulk of this role, however please ask at Reception if you do not know who your named accountable GP is.
Cancelled or Did Not Attend Appointments
If you are unable to attend an appointment at Priory Gate please contact us at the earliest opportunity to enable the appointment to be made available to other patients. The cost to the NHS for one week of missed appointments is usually around £2000.
Yellow Fever Clinic
Priory Gate is authorised to provide Yellow Fever vaccinations. Our Prescribing Nurse Dawn Baker has undertaken appropriate training for this service. The cost of this service is £60 per patient and this includes a certificate with the vaccination. Duplicate certificates if they are needed can be provided for £10.
