The Coventry & Rugby CCG (the CCG) has recently authorised a mail drop to all Coventry households advising that the aim is to share the information on your GP record with other associated Health Care Professionals when needed. The aim of this project is to allow them to view this information as required as part of your care and treatment.

If you do not wish for your information to be shared please let either the Reception team or Clinical team know this when you are next in contact with us.

Extended Hours Appointments

Priory Gate have formed an alliance with a number of Practices across the city and are now able to offer telephone appointments between 6.30pm and 9.45pm between Monday to Friday and at daytime on Saturday and Sunday. If you wish to benefit from these appointments please contact our reception team before 6.30pm on Monday to Friday.

Access to Medical Records

All patients now have the right to access some of their medical records on- line. Please send an email to the Practice if you would like this facility:

Named Accountable GP

All Patients of Priory Gate now have a named accountable GP. The named GP is largely a role of oversight, with the requirement being introduced to reassure patients they have one GP within the practice who is responsible for ensuring that this work is carried out on their behalf. Drs Tyrrell, Kelly and Woods  undertake the bulk of this role, however please ask at Reception if you do not know who your named accountable GP is.

Cancelled or Did Not Attend Appointments

If you are unable to attend an appointment at Priory Gate please contact us at the earliest opportunity to enable the appointment to be made available to other patients.  The cost to the NHS for one week of missed appointments is usually around £2000.

Yellow Fever Clinic

Priory Gate is  authorised to provide Yellow Fever vaccinations. Our Prescribing Nurse Dawn Baker has undertaken appropriate training for this service. The cost of this service is £60 per patient and this includes a certificate with the vaccination. Duplicate certificates if they are needed can be provided for £10.

Dr Richard Woods

Following the retirement of Dr Beaumont in September 2020, Dr Woods is now a  Partner at Priory Gate. All patients that were registered with Dr Beaumont are now registered with Dr Woods.

Please DO NOT come to the surgery unless you are invited to do so by the Doctor or Nurse.

Priory Gate Doctors will contact all patients by telephone to check whether or not it is safe for you to come to the building.

We are now booking a number of nurse and midwife appointments so please contact the surgery to enquire as to availability. Unfortunately ear-syringing is not yet available as it is deemed to be a high-risk procedure.

If sick notes are needed they will be sent either electronically or in the post - remember these are not needed until after 7 days of sickness.

Please follow the link below if you have a current dental emergency. Dental surgeries will be telephone triaging all requests currently and are not offering routine appointments

If medication is needed please contact the POD on 02476 246072. Ideally all medication can be sent electronically so please identify a local pharmacy to prevent you having to attend the surgery.

In addition you can send a text to the POD and they will phone you back. The Text number is 07903 586972. Please write Repeat and Priory Gate Practice and the POD team will phone you back to review your medication.

If you are experiencing fever, viral symptoms or loss of taste or smell you must stay at home for  at least seven days. If your condition deteriorates or you become short of breath please contact 111 on-line

COVID tests can be booked on-line too.

Do not attend Priory Gate Practice or a Walk In Centre or Hospital if you are experiencing the above symptoms

All doctors surgeries have been advised NOT TO provide letters to patients for an exemption for the wearing of face coverings. If patients feel they are unable to wear a face covering. If you feel that as a result of your health, age or equality reasons you are unable to wear a mask you can mention this to the shop or transport provider.

Please remember to wear face coverings when you attend Priory Gate to help protect you, the staff and other patients - thank you.
