URGENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

Practice Closed - Wednesday 24th November

The Practice will be closed for the afternoon today and incoming calls will be diverted to 111 for urgent matters . If the matter is not urgent please call us back when we reopen on Thursday morning from 8am 

Flu Vaccinations - 2021/22

If you are over 65 and not yet been contacted for your flu vaccination please phone the surgery. We have a number of appointments available including Saturday 2nd October between 9am and 12noon.

If you are less than 65 and have underlying health conditions we have now received our first flu delivery for this season so please book in for your vaccination. Flu vaccinations are now also available for all patients over the age of 50 so please contact the surgery and book in. 

Covid Vaccination News 30 September 2021

We have recently started the COVID Booster programme. This can be given to all patients over 50 who have completed their second dose 6 months ago. If you have not yet heard from the surgery and it is over 6 months since your second dose please book in for your Booster.

If you are a Priory Gate patient aged 18 or over and have yet to receive your vaccination please phone us to enable you to book in. If you have previously declined your vaccine and now wish to go ahead please contact the reception team.

We have a small number of patients with incorrect contact details so please check this with us when you phone.

We may well be contacting you by text message and these are often sent at weekends.

Our lead vaccine for first dose patient under 40 is Pfizer.

If you have previously advised that you do not want a COVID vaccination and have now changed your mind please contact the reception team and we will book you in.  

Parkrun- Memorial Park Coventry

Priory Gate Practice is now a Registered Parkrun Practice and we plan to be running at 9am in the Memorial Park in Coventry. If you are interested. If you wish to join us follow the link below and register. We will post on here when staff are running.

Patient Participation Group

Priory Gate is looking to expand our Patient Participation Group. The Group meet quarterly and support the Practice with a range of activities. If you are a patient and would like to consider joining the group please contact the Practice Manager Glenn Walker to express your interest or to have an informal discussion. glenn.walker@nhs.net or 02476 961370.

Coventry & Rugby GP Alliance Awards

Priory Gate Practice is honoured to have received 5 shortlisted nominations for the first GP Alliance Awards event that took place on 6th July 2019

The Partners and staff were delighted to be shortlisted for 5 awards ( more than any other Practice of the 65 that make up the Alliance) and Dr Tyrrell was thrilled to receive her award.

Extended Hours Appointments

Priory Gate have formed an alliance with a number of Practices across the city and are now able to offer telephone appointments between 6.30pm and 9.45pm between Monday to Friday and at daytime on Saturday and Sunday. If you wish to benefit from these appointments please contact our reception team before 6.30pm on Monday to Friday.

Access to Medical Records

All patients now have the right to access some of their medical records online. Please send an email to the Practice if you would like this facility: priory.gate@nhs.net

Cancelled or Did Not Attend Appointments

If you are unable to attend an appointment at Priory Gate please contact us at the earliest opportunity to enable the appointment to be made available to other patients. The cost to the NHS for one week of missed appointments is usually around £2000.

Yellow Fever Clinic

Priory Gate is authorised to provide Yellow Fever vaccinations. Our Prescribing Nurse Dawn Baker has undertaken appropriate training for this service. The cost of this service is £60 per patient and this includes a certificate with the vaccination. Duplicate certificates if they are needed can be provided for £10.

General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)

Priory Gate Practice aims to be fully compliant with the new GDPR Regulations that came into force on 25th May 2018. As part of this we have prepared a Privacy Statement describing how we handle and deal with your medical information. A copy of this is available for you to download under the Further information GDPR tab on the right.

Please ensure you advise us of any change in your circumstances including contact numbers, email and address to enable us maintain appropriate contact with you.

If you need access to your medical records please provide this in writing wither by email or in person priory.gate@nhs.net. Our aim will be to deal with your request within 14 days however we must deal with it within 30 days.

Named Accountable GP

All Patients of Priory Gate now have a named accountable GP. The named GP is largely a role of oversight, with the requirement being introduced to reassure patients they have one GP within the practice who is responsible for ensuring that this work is carried out on their behalf. Dr Beaumont and Dr Tyrrell undertake the bulk of this role, however please ask at Reception if you do not know who your named accountable GP is.

Patients are  invited to use Electronic Prescribing allowing a paper free way to collect your medicines. Please see the information in Quick Links on the Website Homepage.

Don't forget you can order your repeat prescriptions on line or through the Prescription Ordering Direct service 

Appointments are now available to pre-book online up to 7 weeks in advance

We welcome all new patients who wish to register with our practice. You can download the form to register or call into the surgery and ask at reception for a registration form. As part of the registration we will need to see you initially.
